Maizie's love for animals began with her very first pony, Dante. From the moment they met, a special bond was formed that sparked a lifelong passion for animal care, training, and horsemanship. Through Dante, Maizie learned the value of patience, trust, and understanding, lessons that continue to guide her work with every animal she meets.
Today, Maizie is the proud owner of three beloved horses—Dante, Blackjack, and Anna. Each horse has a unique personality, and she enjoys building strong relationships with them through daily care, training, and enrichment. While she helps care for and work with many of the animals on our farm, her greatest passion will always be her horses.
As our in-house trainer, Maizie is dedicated to using positive reinforcement methods and believes that every animal deserves to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. Her training philosophy focuses on building trust and confidence, creating willing partnerships rather than relying on force. She is passionate about ethical treatment and helping animals learn in a way that supports their physical and emotional well-being.
Because our horses have specialized dietary needs and are actively involved in training, we do not offer horse petting or feeding during farm visits. This allows us to maintain their health, consistency in training, and overall welfare.
For Maizie, horses are more than animals—they are partners, teachers, and lifelong friends. Her dedication to their care and training is a reflection of the love for animals that all began with one special pony.
